Tavik Swimwear top (available at Free People), Brandy Melville dress, clutch c/o KONOC, sunnies c/o Giant Vintage, Hurley bottoms

May I introduce you all to some of my favorite things: coconuts, good reads (via this Kindle, a wonderful Christmas gift from my brother), and this Tavik Swimwear top! I've been reading and consuming coconuts by the beach everyday, and consequently, getting burnt from the merciless sun. You guys are all familiar with this favorite dress of mine already, which I featured here. I personally enjoy seeing other bloggers remix items especially because seeing the new spin off of old items is refreshing, and nobody has an infinite amount of resources - so it's good to know bloggers are not being excessively wasteful! In fact, some of my favorite bloggers are those who make good, creative use of staple items.

Aside from the obviously amazing shredded back, the other reason why I adore this swim top so much is its cut. I feel like it's more modest than the usual triangle bikini top, which makes for much more fun playing water sports as well as some odd tank-top shaped sun-burns/tan lines... I feel like often we find ourselves using swimwear as an excuse to rest upon conventional fashion, but I try to hunt for atypical pieces that are exceptions to this habit.

Pleather pants from ASOS, camo shirt from Zara, platforms from Jeffrey Campbell x Nasty Gal

I'm just spoiling you all with the frequent posts here recently, right? I wish I could say that this was always the case, but I usually don't have as much time as I do now during winter break to take photos and compile the posts! The truth is, I hadn't realized until just last week how little time I had to myself back in college. Upon returning back home, I was surprised by the sheer amount of time I had to nap, watch movies (I only watched one movie in my first semester of college - shocking, I know), aimlessly window/online shop, edit photos, take photos, and stuff myself with food (this seems to be something that I love to mention on my blog). While I've really been enjoying the down time by myself as well as with family and friends, I love the hustle and bustle of keeping busy. I just wish I could be able to update more frequently during the semesters.

P.S. The lovely Lauren from Stratamode interviewed me on her sweet blog! Check it out here.

Jacket and knee-highs from ASOS, dress c/o Lulu's, platforms from JC x Nasty Gal

Merry, merry Christmas my loves! I hope this holiday season is treating you all well and that you are all recipients of lovely gifts, fluffy snow, and food comas. I have been lucky enough to spend this holiday season with the best of people: my family and friends. It is definitely a much colder Christmas than the one I would be having if I were in California, but I've been enjoying snuggling up under my blankets, festive mugs with hot tea, and keeping my fingers warm in mittens! Countdown to Thailand: two days!

silver kicks c/o Maxstar Store, denim jacket from ASOS, Car Mar shorts via LF, thermal from Free People, denim backpack from American Apparel, Vans snapback via Urban Outfitters, Santa Cruz Cruzer via Amazon

I don't think I remember ever trying my hand at triple-denim before: so, alas, I present you triple denim à la light wash! I also wanted to show you all my lovely Cruzer, which is shameless in its pastel girlishness. Honestly, I love it because of how girly and unconventional it is, and I have people staring at my feet all the time when I'm riding it. For once, I actually know that it's not because they're staring at my shoes.

I finally arrived back to Shanghai last night, and looking at these sun-filled photos makes me miss the lovely Sunshine State, but I'm so happy to be back here, in all of Shanghai's cold and grey-skied splendor. I've definitely been enjoying the Asian food and city-vibes. I'm heading to Thailand soon as well, so I'm beyond excited for the hot, hot heat and the drool-inducing food!

Ombre shirt c/o Lulu's, Blank NYC jeans via Urban Outfitters, Jeffrey Campbell x Nasty Gal studded platform boots via Nasty Gal

We've finally been able to hear the satisfying crunch of the fall leaves and witness the yellowing of the leaves. While the weather hasn't been able to make up its mind lately here in sunny Southern California, varying from the high 70's to the low 40's, at least we have the consistency of the changing leaves! I currently am ridden with finals and papers, which would explain why I've somewhat dropped off the radar. However, in five days, I'll be able to return to Shanghai! I honestly am beyond excited to return home for some good food, laughter with old friends, and of course, snuggling up with the fambam. As of right now, all I can do is cozy up by myself in the library under layer upon layer of cozy knits.

On another note, I'm wearing a few of my recent staples as well as a new favorite! To be frank, you don't often see me wearing blue jeans on this blog, because I don't really in real life either. However, the allure of this shredded pair adds another facet that makes them a classic with a twist in my opinion. I also scored these platform boots during the Black Friday weekend a few days ago with some pretty insane deals, and could not believe my luck, as I had been eyeing these since the past summer. I am a huge fan of JC's, but often the height of a lot of the JC's are just impractical for someone of my height to be towering around in on a college campus. These, on the other hand, are taller than my standard ankle boots, but definitely are still wearable on a day-to-day basis! I was also sent this dreamy shirt by Lulu's, and I absolutely love the ombre and spikes!

Thanks for giving me a study break, guys - back to my research paper.
